AFTER-HOURS 780.849.4888 | COVID-19 UPDATES LUB PUBLIC HEARING ELECTION 2021

Accessible and accountable, local government in Lesser Slave River consists of area citizens elected by the community to serve on Council and/or various boards. Citizens may also participate in local government by volunteering on committees or commissions.
COUNCIL AND BOARD MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC – ANY OF WHOM CAN SPEAK DIRECTLY TO THE COUNCIL OR BOARD MEMBERS.

Elected every four years, the MD's Reeve and six Councillors work to ensure decisions mirror community needs and interests. Council functions as a board of directors for the community at large; setting a strategic direction, and then designing policies to achieve that direction.
