Municipal Services Technician

The Municipal Service Technician is a site-based approach to providing services and maintenance of the Municipal District’s utility systems, facilities, infrastructure, lift stations, and heavy equipment. Performing a variety of tasks year-round to assist with municipal operations. Duties include both equipment and labor-intensive tasks.

The MD is looking for individuals who have experience, training and/or aptitude for a variety of duties. We are willing to provide training to grow the candidate to become competent in the responsibilities.


Responsibilities

Duties may include (but are not limited to):

Equipment Operating: Operates equipment in a safe and effective manner. Performs daily safety and maintenance checks, minor repairs and maintains logs.

Facilities Maintenance: Assists with a variety of inspections, repairs, services, installations and upgrades to MD Buildings. Performs minor repairs (carpentry, finishing, cement, roof repair, flooring, drywalling, painting).

Labourer Duties: Performs or assists with a variety site maintenance, refuse collection and disposal, brushing and clearing, road maintenance, assistance on construction projects, flagging, snow clearing, and sanding.

Water/Wastewater Services: Involved in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of water treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection and treatment systems (training provided).

Salary Range: $30.48 – 40.11/hour ($63,393.72 – $83,41.81), dependent on experience. Temporary accommodations may be available for a reduced rent. These positions work Monday to Friday.
