Golf Courses in the Lesser Slave Lake Region

Gilwood Golf and Country Club

Image

Built on the shores of the Lesser Slave Lake, the Gilwood Golf Course and Country Club is an 18-hole oasis in the thick of the forest, only 10 km from Slave Lake.

A target style course where accuracy is rewarded, golfers at Gilwood must take care to curb errant shots and keep their balls on the fairway. A ball landing in th thickly treed rough is almost guaranteed to cost its owner at least a stroke. Balls are not always safe on the fairways either, thanks to some strategically place bunkers and a handful of well placed water hazards.

The course gives even the most experienced golfers a challenge, which is demonstrated each year at numerous tournaments.
