The Municipal District of Lesser Slave River #124 is currently seeking a full time Truck Driver for the Slave Lake area to operate truck and trailers, as well as a variety of heavy equipment including grader, dozer, excavator, loader and packer on MD roadways and construction projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties may include (but are not limited to):

• Snowplowing/Sanding.
• Loading and hauling equipment.
• Loading and hauling gravel, asphalt, culverts, salt, sand and potable water.
• Installing signs and culverts.
• Maintaining, servicing and repairing trucks and equipment according to maintenance policy.
• Responsible for all aspects of loading/unloading and safety and security of cargo.
• Participates in sign maintenance, installation, and washing.
• Maintains assigned equipment according to maintenance policy and repair as necessary.
• Carries out physical labor including outdoor and indoor facility maintenance.
• Assist other employees and departments on projects.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 Alberta Driver’s License with air brakes – required
• Have at least 5 years’ experience operating heavy equipment and trucks – required
• The ability to work alone and follow safety procedures.
• The ability to perform duties requiring mild, medium and heavy physical labour.
• The ability to drive in all kinds of weather, traffic and road conditions.
• Ability to work alone, follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to drive in all kinds of weather, traffic, and road conditions; be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Salary Range: $26.76 – $38.80/hour ($55,666 – $80,709/year), dependent on qualifications and experience.
