The MD is contemplating several projects to enhance visitor experience, improve visitor awareness of regional landmarks and attractions, create a sense of arrival and place, and alert visitors and residents to leisure and recreation opportunities. One such project is the design and construction of a set of two wooden information kiosks in strategic locations of the MD.
Each kiosk shall feature a set of permanent graphic informational panels, and a lockable bulletin cabinet. While the MD welcomes vendor input and pricing related to the graphic panels and bulletin cabinet, these are not required elements of the RFP. Primarily, the MD seeks to work with the selected vendor to design, fabricate and install the kiosk structures themselves.
The MD seeks to impart a provincial parks aesthetic in alignment with its environmental signage program. As such, a preference for natural materials, sturdy construction and simple, timeless design has been stated. A photo of a similar type of kiosk has been included with this RFQ for stylistic reference.
