Flashing Red: School Kids Ahead

Since the start of this school year alone, the MD has recorded a number of instances of motorists passing a school bus when red lights are flashing, or otherwise ignoring standard school bus safety protocol. Help keep our kids safe by heeding school bus signals while driving. Flashing AMBER lights mean use caution if passing a bus.

Heed the Rules of School Bus Safety

Flashing AMBER lights mean proceed with caution around a school bus. Flashing RED lights mean stop a good four or five car lengths away, because children are exiting or entering the bus. Steep fines and significant demerits await motorists who fail to heed these important signals.

Safer roads start with you. The MD thanks drivers for exercising extra caution and vigilance around school buses.
